Enhancing Educational Leadership In Algeria

Abstract

Little attention has been paid to the national unification of curricular so far at the level Algerian Higher Schools of Education and how it should be addressed, despite the recurrent launch of ministerial decrees to serve this purpose. The present paper underscores the concept of educational leadership as a real-life skill that needs to be integrated throughout the national curricular at these schools. It also attempts to justify why it is particularly necessary to be acquired by EFL pre-service teachers before graduation and developed during their in-service teaching career. Thus, the present objective is to shed light on the meaning of educational leadership, highlight the factors that are behind the emergence of educational leadership at these institutions, and demarcate its roles and their expected contribution to the personal and professional growth of the learner.
