أثر الحوكمة الجيدة على التنمية البشرية في الدول النامية (حالة الدول العربية )

الملخص

The present study characterizes and analysis the elements of good governance and human development in 133 developing countries in 2013, with special reference to Arab countries. In order to overcome the high correlation between the elements of good governance, the study applies the Principal Component Analysis to create a single indicator for good governance taking into consideration the six elements of good governance issued by the World Bank. In addition, the study standarderizes the variables under study and applies the Two Stage least squares to estimate the impact of good governance as well as other factors on the level of human development in the countries under study. Although the results of the study show that the good governance has a significant impact on human development, and the impact of six elements on human development is close to each other, however, the good governance is not the most influential factor on human development in the countries under study. The results show higher positive significant impact for the improved sanitation facilities population and urbanization on human development. The results also show negative significant impact of the unemployment rate. On the other hand, the government spending on health and education has insignificant impact on human development
