Design And Implementation Of Operational Risk Mapping Case Study The Local Development Bank Of Algeria

Abstract

This study based on the design and implementation of an operational risk mapping in an Algerian bank, with the objective of appropriating the very current concepts of banking operational risk, its management and its risk mapping in particular. We wanted, through an approach established by the BDL, to inspire best practices in terms of operational risk mapping. This 3-month research work allowed us to develop our knowledge of operational risk and the process for developing the mapping of this risk. Results of this case study: Operational risk is a risk of extreme importance that greatly affects the proper functioning of the bank, for this purpose the bank strives to manage and control it in order to reduce it, to achieve its objective. BDL follows the various texts of prudential rules: Basel international and Algerian national one to establish a good risk management process.
