الملخص

There is no doubt that intellectual property rights in general, and industrial property in particular, are considered one of the most recent branches of law, and one of the most prominent features of this age and the criterion for progress in it, as the disparity between countries in their possession of these rights has led to the division of the world into uneven groups, in the field of progress and backwardness. Therefore, intellectual property rights have great importance in economic and social development, which, if used wisely, could lead to a scientific and technological revolution. This is because providing strong protection for intellectual property rights will be able to attract internal and external investments, because investors in the industrial fields in particular see basic guarantees for their industrial activity, and real protection for their industrial and financial rights. This is what the TRIPS Agreement on Intellectual Property Rights aimed at, as it declared that it wishes to reduce distortions and obstacles that hinder international trade, and takes into account the need to encourage effective and adequate protection of intellectual property rights in general and industrial in particular, with the aim of ensuring that no Measures and actions taken to enforce intellectual property rights become barriers in and of themselves to legitimate trade.
