الملخص: يعتبر يوحنا الدمشقي المؤسس الحقيقي للجدل المسيحي الإسلامي وأول من ساهم في نشأة حركة التفكر المسيحي في الإسلام، كما يعتبر كتابه الهرطقات –الهرطة المئة- وكتابه مناقشة بين مسلم ومسيحي أهم ماكتبه عن الإسلام والمسلمين والقرآن ونبوءة محمد –صلى الله عليه وسلم- وتأتي هذه الورقة البحثية لدراسة البدايات الأولى لحركة الجدل المسيحية في علاقتها بالإسلام والمسلمين، وأهم من ساهم فيها وعلى رأسهم يوحنا الدمشقي، كما تحاول الورقة تشريح أهم أفكار يوحنا الدمشقي ومصادر معارفه عن الإسلام والمسلمين، وأهم ملامح منهجه الجدلي. Summary: John of Damascus having been tought out as the founding father of the Christian-Islamic Rhetoric arises, and the Pioneer to the very first contribution to the dawning of the Christian thought movement in Islam. His book The Heresies - The Hundred Heresies - and his book "An arguing between a Muslim and a Christian", were considered as his major world ever either on Islam and Muslims, or on The Qur’an and the prophethood of Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him - Therefore, the current research paper attempts to shed light on the very initial stages of the Christian dialectic movement in its relationship with Islam and Muslims, and those who contributed the most to its enhancement, lead indisputably by the eminent John of Damascus.Thus, we endeavour to achieve through this diligent inquiry the main leading ideas of John of Damascus,but chiefly the documents and sources from where he gathered knowledge about Islam and Muslims, tackling the major characteristics to his argumentation's perspective and reasoning outlook.
