The present article deals with some of the most widely used and disputed terms in post-colonial literature and theory, which commonly refers to the creation of new transcultural forms within the contact zone produced by colonization. It casts light on the issue of Hybridity as a phenomenon and shows the lingering effects of colonialism upon it. Hybridity covers various domains in culture and society, identity, language, religion, and the right of a true citizen of the country as warmly interested topics in cultural and literary studies. Hence, this paper aims at presenting a proffer to substantiate, emphasize, and personify the intersection between hybridity and the legacies of colonialism in A House for Mr Bisaws by V.S Naipaul, which are acculturation, double consciousness, unhomeliness, alienation and exile, as main elements in postcolonial literature.
