Abstract

Abstract The study aims to analyze the reality of sustainable performance in Algeria’s pharmaceutical sector through the “moral responsibility theory in corporate sustainability". The pharmaceutical company (Hikma Pharma Algeria) has adopted a model through which the sustainability of the target corporate performance can be determined. The e-questionnaire method has been used to investigate employees' views on their corporate perceptions, objectives and structures towards each of the listed sustainability activities. Hence, the results demonstrated that all participants showed that their company had moral responsibilities towards certain aspects of sustainability in particular. They believed that the corporation was more interested with labor relations, righteous operations activities and environmental protection than community engagement activities when fulfilling their sustainability responsibilities. The results were also interpreted and several recommendations were presented.
