Egyptian Society And Covid-19 Pandemic: Evaluating Awareness And Preventive Practices Of Egyptians Towards The Disease In The Socio-cultural Context

Abstract
Abstract: At the early period of COVID-19 outbreak in Egypt, participants asked about their information about this new disease and whether they made changes to their routines recently. The data collected from 350 participants using an online survey and statistically analyzed. Well- educated Egyptians, particularly women were relatively knowledgeable about the disease. They have an optimistic attitude towards disease and most of them had taken adequate preventive measures. The study demonstrates the importance of health education programs aimed at improving COVID-19 knowledge in encouraging optimistic attitudes and maintaining safe practices. Keywords: COVID-19, SARS-coV-2, Egypt, knowledge, practices. ملخص: خلال الفترات المبكرة من انتشار وباء الكورونا سئل المشاركون عن معلوماتهم عن هذا الوباء الجديد وما إذا كانوا قد أجروا بعض التغييرات على نمط حياتهم في الآونة الأخيرة. وقد تم جمع البيانات من (350) مشاركًا باستخدام الاستبيان الالكتروني وتم تحليل البيانات احصائيًا. ومن أهم النتائج التي تم التوصل لها؛ كانن المتعلوين وخاصة النساء على دراية جيدة بشأن المرض ولديهم موقف متفائل تجاهه، كما اتخذوا تدابير وقائية كافية. تؤكد الدراسة على أهمية دور برامج التثقيف الصحي الرامية إلى تحسين المعرفة ورفع الوعي بوباء الكورونا في التزام الأفراد التدابير الوقائية و ارتفاع مستوى التفائل لديهم تجاه الوباء. كلمات مفتاحية: كوفيد-19، سارس، مصر، المعرفة، الممارسات.
