Exploring Students’ Perceptions Towards Facebook Integration In Efl Literature Classroom At Dr Tahar Mouley University, Algeria

Abstract

The importance of teaching literature in departments of English has always been a challenge for teachers. Hence, they are seeking strategies and solutions to use the new technologies in classroom settings to obtain better learning outcomes. Therefore, the present paper offers concrete insights about the usage of Facebook in teaching literature. It attempts to explore the use of Facebook as an accompanying resource for (LMD) Second year students to learn English Literature at the Department of Literature and English, Dr Tahar Mouley university, Saida. The study also examines students’ perceptions towards the use of Facebook in learning literature where their views were measured through a questionnaire comprising 20 items. The results showed that Facebook can be effective in literature classes. They indicated that via Facebook the students can widen their knowledge about the target language as it can increase their interest in literature class. This study recommends the use of Facebook as a Literature learning tool for Second year students.
