Teaching Reading In An Esp Classroom: A Case Study At The Department Of Computer Sciences

Abstract

In this paper, we will shed light on the importance of teaching reading to ESP students, and more particularly English for Computer Sciences. In fact, reading is very motivating when related to the subject-matter of the students since they will discuss topics related to the field of Computer Sciences such as programming a computer, the processing of data, the operating system, the different memories of a computer, viruses…etc.In addition, we will discuss some of the concepts related to reading such as the schematic knowledge, language in use and both bottom-up and top-down processing.
