تمثل الدراسات التي تتناول ممارسة العمل الحر في الإحاطة بالظروف التي دفعت لممارسته، والأسباب التي جعلته يتطور ويستمر في الوجود، وفي مقابل ذلك تبرز المعوقات التي حالت دون التوجه إليه، فإذا الممارسة تمر بتقييمه في الميدان ومن ثم البحث في شروطه، وهذه الأخيرة تحدد ثقافة خاصة به، منها قيم تعكس طبيعة التحول الذي يعيشه المجتمع، وهذا ما ينطبق على المجتمع الجزائري وتشكل قيم عمل ترسبت في ذهنية الفرد أعاقت توجهه لممارسة العمل الحر أو المقاولاتي .
