Résumé

The role of the sea in the history of Morocco is still not known. As research in this area is recent, studies that have been developed so far are very rare. And if Salé has benefited from a few theses, the other ports, especially those in northern Morocco, have not yet been studied to elucidate their activities, the maritime company established there, and even its relations with the Other ports, from Morocco as well as from other countries. In this context, we propose to examine the situation of the ports of the North of Morocco, mainly Tetouan and Tangier, in the light of recent methodological questions, which address the essential points of a port system such as the role of the state, The functions of the port, its hinterland and its foreland, without neglecting the external context.
