Résumé : L'emploi abusif et erroné du concept de taqiyya ou dissimulation dans une certaine presse post-attentats du 11 septembre, nous a conduits à lui consacrer le présent article à l'effet d'en rétablir le sens historique, social et lexicographique. Nous pointerons les contextes de son évocation et son déploiement. Tout comme, nous nous emploierons à vérifier son ancrage idéologique et doctrinal en terre d'Islam. Le balayage chronologique fera apparaître une évolution sémantique ininterrompue du concept. Ainsi, il sera fait ici une distinction entre une taqiyya défensive et une taqiyya offensive. Abstract : The abusive and erroneous use of the concept of taqiyya or concealment in a certain press after the attacks of September 11, led us to dedicate this article to the effect of restoring its historical, social and lexicographic meaning. We will point out the contexts of its evocation and deployment. Just as, we will strive to verify its ideological and doctrinal anchorage in Muslim lands. The chronological scan will reveal an uninterrupted semantic evolution of the concept. Thus, a distinction will be made here between a defensive taqiyya and an offensive taqiyya.
