Firman Of Sultan Mahmud 1st To Ibrahim Khodja Named Dey Of Algiers, In 1746.

الملخص

Our subject deals with an archival document preserved in the Historical Service of Defense, the series of the land army at the Vincennes Palace in Paris, and we localized it on a French archive manuscript, as it dealt with the issue of appointing the Deys of Algiers in their positions as rulers Regency, and in particular one of the Firmans signed by the Ottoman Sultan Mahmoud I and sent to Algiers, with the aim of installing Ibrahim Khoja (Kutchuk); Dey of Algiers Regency in the year 1159 A.H / 1746 A.D, and included many instructions and directions for the aforementioned Dey at Algiers, such as; Taking care of all the affairs of the Algerian subjects, and Harmony with the Janissary Soldiers in Algeria; Or alert the Dey on some external issues such as that the Ottoman Empire concluded the demarcation agreement with Venice, and treaty of peace with the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies and other European powers, and therefore the Algerians must abide by what the Sublime Porte signed.
