الملخص
ملخص: إن دراسة الدين وأصله وجوهره كان دائمًا موضوع اهتمام الفلاسفة واللاهوتيين وغيرهم من العلماء، وفي هذا الصدد نواجه جملة من النظريات المختلفة، خاصة في القرنين التاسع عشر والعشرين، بما في ذلك آراء اللاهوتيين الألمان مثل رودولف أوتو، حيث نجد أن جوهر الدين عند أوتو ليس مثلما عبر عنه فرويد أنه يكمن في المجتمع والضعف النفسي، وليس مثل ما اعتبره كانط وشلاير ماخر أنه يكمن في الأخلاق والشعور بالثقة، لكن في رأيه يكمن جوهر الدين في ما يسميه "نومينوس" (فكرة القدسي). وهو يعتقد أن نومينوس له سمتان رئيسيتان: الأولى هي الرعب (الهيبة)، والثانية هي الأنس والجاذبية، لذلك يمكن تسمية نومينوس بأنه السر الرهيب الذي يجعلنا نعيش في الحيرة والخوف، وهو جذاب كذلك حيث يجذبنا نحوه، كما أنه في الوقت نفسه يرى أن هذه التجربة غير قابلة للتّعلم، كونه يعتقد أنها يجب عليها أن تستيقظ في روح الإنسان. Abstract: The study of religion, its origin and substance have always been the subject of interest to philosophers, theologians, and other scholars. In this regard, we face a number of different theories, especially in the 19th and 20th centuries, including the views of German theologians such as Rudolf Otto where we find that the essence of religion is not as expressed by Freud that it lies in society and psychological weakness, and not like what Kant and Schlayer Macher who considered that it lies in morality and a sense of trust, but in the view of Otto the essence of religion lies in what he calls "Nominus". He believes that Numinus has two main features: The first is Awesome, and the second one is the Fascinating, So Nominus can be called the Mysterium tremendum that makes us live in confusion and fear. Furthermore it is also attractive as it attracts us. At the same time, he sees this experience as unworkable, because he believes that this "religious experience" should wake up in the human spirit.
