Abstract This research aims at investigating the effects of the effective selection of some aspects of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT); interaction, communicative activities and group work, for effective linguistics instruction on a randomly selected sample of 74 first year English students at Oum el Bouaghi University. In such an experimental research, focus is put on how best some CLT aspects help language learners accommodate with the module of linguistics. The findings indicated that the more the audience is engaged within a linguistics course, the more learning and comprehensible input (Krashen.1987) takes place. In a nutshell, understanding takes place when learners experience knowledge by themselves.
