Negation In Arabic And Hebrew Within Generative Syntax

Abstract

This paper investigates the syntactic properties of some negative markers in Arabic and Hebrew within Generative Syntax. It has been suggested that laysa in Arabic displays the same syntactic properties to that exists in Hebrew. However, differently to that of Hebrew, laysa assigns accusative case to nominal and adjectival predicate.
